I was drawn to painting this little study, when our country was in lockdown in 2020. The prime minister was fighting for his life and the Nightingale Hospitals were rapidly being built to assist with the growing numbers of patients. The thought of Florence Nightingale and her nursing days came to mind.

A very uncertain time for us all and, but a rare opportunity for me to paint ! It struck me that this image could possibly be used as the Nightingale Hospital logo ! I was surprised by the amount of social media interest in this painting. It even made it to the local Suffolk Free Press.
